Over the River and Through the Woods!
That is exactly how I felt this past week. We took a family vacation to Colorado and loved every minute of the cooler mountain air and beautiful mountains! We started off making a trip to the farm in White Deer (outside Amarillo) as a halfway point. Then the next morning onward to the Royal Gorge, camping, swimming, rafting, and cooking out by the campfire!
Mason's thoughts:
1. What was your favorite part of the trip?
I really liked sleeping in the tent. It was fun.
2. Did you like rafting?
It was fun but I got bored when we floated around! (Spoken like a true boy who needs action in our adventure)
3. What was your favorite food when we camped out?
I liked the hot dogs except daddy's was burned!
4. Did you like the mountains?
I like them I want to climb them next time!
I am so glad that we are home and now on to tackle that pile of laundry!!!

There's a frog in the house!!!
You know it's like they say:
Frogs and snails
That's what little boys are made of. . .
Mason has recently discovered a family of frogs that live in our backyard. There is a big fat one and about 3 babies! (They really are kinda cute!) After the rain Mason found them in his dumptruck in the backyard! Next thing I knew there were two baby frogs in the house. They were jumping all over the living room and Mason caught them and put them back outside.
And I thought this week was going to be a quiet one!! Ha!
Interview with Mason:
1. How did you find the frogs?
They were just sitting in my dumptruck in the water.
2. How many were there?
I "fink" "free". They were little momma.
3. Why did you bring them in the living room?
They looked hot.
4. Do you like frogs?
Yes, but momma you can touch them they won't bite!!
So fun!!! My husband missed out on that one! But I did get pictures!

Amarillo by Morning. . . .
As we were driving into the big city of Amarillo last week this song popped into my head. Gotta love George Strait right? Man I do. Growing up in a small town was great! The trip was wonderful and I was able to see almost all of my family and all of my husband's family as well. Mason was able to play with his cousins and run free at the farm! (Gotta love having land!)
During the drive to Amarillo I figured out that it is much easier to travel with my husband rather than by myself! I didn't have anyone to change out the DVD player. I had to tell Mason to hold on until we get to Quannah! He was ok with that! It was quite comical! Will flew in on Friday so all was good on the ride home!
Here are Mason's thoughts on the trip:
1. Did you think momma knew where she was going?
I asked you if you knew the right way it was taking forever!
2. Did you enjoy all your cousins and running around and playing?
I liked all of them. I like Trevor and Falyn. They were fun! Is Hagen my cousin too momma?
3. Did you have fun at Wonderland? (That is Amarillo's small amusement park. There are rides that have been there since I was a kid!)
Oh yea! I really liked the water rides momma. They were cool. We need to do that again! I liked the twisty ride that we rode in a car. (A roller coaster). I also liked the funnel cake. The boats were not so fun they were little.
4. Did you like going to the airport to pick up daddy?
I got to see the big planes and then daddy came around the corner. I gave him a big hug.
5. What was your favorite thing to do when you helped Grandma feed the animals?
I really like Bubbles the kitty cat. She licked my hand every time. One time she was out hunting though, I think, We didn't see her.
6. Did you like the fireworks?
They were loud and cool- you like the green ones right momma? Daddy like the blue ones! Nolan(our cousin) did a good job making them shoot up in the sky!
Tune in next week for more comments from the life of a four year old!!

Garage Sale
I am reflecting back on last week and I think-"Did I really just pull off a garage in a week?? I cleaned out closets and gutted all my baby stuff out and got ready for the sale. It was a whirlwind of a week! Mason thought it was funny at time but we also shed some tears over his"favorite" toys that were going in the sale!
Another interview from Mason:
1. What was best part about getting ready for the garage sale?
I think it was fun helping mommy get the closets clean out. I like to jump in
all the piles. The mess was fun! ( with the cutest smile on his face)
2. Did you have fun helping at the garage sale?
I liked telling the customers to step right up. I heard that on my cartoons.
3. Was it hard going through your toys?
I didn't like that part. I like all my toys.
4. Where did all your toys go?
I got to help out kids that don't have toys momma-you know that!
5. Finally, what was your job at the garage sale?
I took care of the bills and coins.
I found out that the toys had to sneak out in the middle of the night to the garage to become part of the sale. :o)
Stay posted as we travel back to our hometown of Amarillo for the Fourth of July! We will be seeing family that we haven't seen in awhile!

Ahhhh the life. . .
I believe that summer has a different meaning to everyone. To those that are working in the corporate world, they think what is summer? It is just getting warmer outside for a few months. For teachers it is a time to reflect on your school year and get a few closets cleaned out. For the school child the are just so excited that there is no more homework for a couple of months! And now for the four year old is a time when momma is at home and we are on a more relaxed schedule! Or so we thought! For those of you that have kids, summer with a little one is kinda crazy in itself!!
I thought it would be fun this summer to fill you in on the details of a four year old through his eyes rather than an adults! This should be interesting!!!
Now an interview with Mason:
Question 1: What if your favorite thing to do outside in the summer?
Answer: I really like the part where we play in the pool. I like hot days outside.
Question 2: What is your favorite thing to do at home during the summer?
Answer: I like to play basketball and play with Major(or dog).
Question 3: Do you like sleeping in? (He gets up about 9 every morning)
Answer: I like it when I climb in momma and daddy's bed and sleep in!
Please stay posted and more interviews will follow! Happy reading!
